Benchmark Agent Heads Up Local Toy and Clothing Drive

Looking for a way to give back this Christmas season? Our very own Benchmark agent Jon Krawcyk is also a Franklin Firefighter and one of the founders of the Franklin Firefighters Toy and Clothing drive. They provide Christmas for local families that might not otherwise have one.

Seven years ago while on a paramedic run, Jon and several other firefighters were in the home of a woman with four young children. While the paramedics were assessing a health issue with the mother, the other firefighters were trying to calm the children by talking to them about Christmas. They noticed the mother was becoming panicked by their conversation. They later learned the reason the mother had anxiety is that she had never discussed Christmas with her children. Although she could provide for their basic needs, she wasnt able to provide anything for Christmas. The firefighters made a conscious decision right then that they would provide a Christmas for the family.

The Franklin Firefighters Toy and Clothing drive founded by Jon Krawcyk, Clay Mackey, David Edge, and Jeff Boggs has grown over the last seven years and this year will provide Christmas for around 400 children. They work with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Franklin and Fairview to identify children in need. Tags listing information about the child, their wish list and sizes are available for sponsorship.

Benchmark Realty, is a strong supporter of the firefighters efforts.

In the true spirit of Christmas, in lieu of a company party Benchmark Realty, LLC. provided a financial contribution and individual agents are sponsoring families in need. Instead of spending the money on ourselves we chose to give back and focus on the needs of others. Phillip Cantrell, Benchmark Realty
