If you’re a Nashville Native or have lived here for a few years, then you’re probably familiar with “The City by the Lake”.  If that doesn’t ring a bell, then you may also know Hendersonville as the home or once home to well-known musicians, such as Johnny and June Cash, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Marty Stuart and Conway Twitty.  For those of you who are new to the area, Hendersonville is located just 18 miles north of Nashville in Sumner County, on Old Hickory Lake. This small town features more than 25 miles of shoreline on Old Hickory Lake, which draws in thousands of boaters, anglers and swimmers each summer.

Locals – did you know Hendersonville adopted its name from William Henderson, the city’s first postmaster?

This wonderful place is also known for its affordable housing, great school systems and for those who like to spend time outside enjoying its parks, trails and recreational amenities. This is why Hendersonville has become one of the fastest growing areas in Middle Tennessee.

We’ve put together a few local recommendations to check out:

Eat: The Rudder at Anchor High Marina or Moby Dicky’s.

Boat: If you’re part of The Nashville Boat Club, then you’ll definitely want to check out Creekwood Marina. Another newer marina to check out is Safe Harbor at Drake’s Creek.

Relax: For those of you who enjoy spending the day at the park, be sure to check out Rockland Park or Sander’s Ferry.
